At CyLock we rely on the new international mobile network standard ‘Narrow Band IoT’ – in short ‘NB IoT’.
This means that CyLock can currently be used in 19 European countries – and soon throughout whole Europe. Where everywhere now? … see enclosed:
Where can I use CyLock now?
The CyLock module works via the NB IoT mobile network of Deutsche Telekom. Thanks to roaming agreements between the network providers, CyLock can be used not only in Germany but in many other EU countries as well.
Thus, the module can currently be used in 19 EU countries. These also includes ….
- Austria
- Belgium
- Croatia
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Finland
- Greece
- Hungary
- Italy
- Liechtenstein
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Poland
- Slovakia
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
We assume that in 2022 the remaining countries of the EU will be connected via roaming agreements between the network providers.
How is the availability within Germany?
In principle, mobile coverage and thus NB IoT accessibility is provided nationwide in the listed countries. However, “nationwide” does not (unfortunately) mean by definition that 100% of the entire area of a country is covered by mobile. In some rural areas there may be regions with gaps in network coverage. However, roaming agreements between the network operators ensure that if a network is too weak in one region, the module connects in to another network operator (if available), thus providing quasi nationwide coverage.
