In order to enjoy the CyLock module for a long time, here are two short remarks on the appropriate use of the module (“Fair-Use-Policy”).
These remarks are also part of the terms of use.
Application of the module
The CyLock module is designed and developed for the usual use of bicycles, e-bikes or e-scooters. The module is not designed for permanent, excessive usage where high G-forces (acceleration forces) occur frequently or over a long period of time. This includes in particular downhill rides at sporting events or with a competitive character.
No liability is assumed within the scope of product liability for improper use of the module and resulting damage that leads to loss of functionality of the CyLock module. In case of doubt, remove the module (temporarily) before such use of the bike / E-bike for safety reasons.
Core functionality of the module
The CyLock module serves to monitor the respective object in which it has been installed. The included mobile communication is required, among other things, to carry out a one-time or continuous position determination over a defined period of time in case of theft.
The permanent recording of positions (using: “Bikefinder”) and live tracking of routes (using “Tracking”) is not permitted, as it is not provided for by the included data volume of the mobile network nor by the energy consumption. We therefore reserve the right to check and limit the data volume or, if we detect a potential misuse, to switch it off completely if necessary. In such a case, we will send a warning to the user concerned in advance.
Solutions are planned that are specially designed for commercial use (e.g. fleet solutions), which will then also have additional functions and portal access.
