The CyLock app contains some settings that influence the behaviour and use of the module:
App Language
The App currently supports the languages German and English. The App recognises the set system language of the smartphone and automatically switches the App to this language setting (i.e. all languages except German = App is in English). If you want to use the App in English, it is recommended to switch the system language of the smartphone to English.
In Settings – “Emergency numbers”
The most important emergency numbers can be stored here to help you “in case of emergency”. If you need help, you can contact a personal emergency contact, the insurance company hotline or the Assistance Service – contacts that will help you in the event of a breakdown or emergency. In the “Breakdown” App function, these numbers are displayed by clicking on the telephone symbol.
Under Settings – Module Settings:
-
“Keep Alive” On/Off
With this function, the module reports to us at regular intervals (about once a day to once a week) so that we know that the module is working.
This mode is set to “ON” by default.
If this function is ON, it naturally consumes energy – the worse the local mobile conditions, the more – and therefore has that a not inconsiderable effect on battery lifetime. If you want to extend the battery lifetime further until it needs to be replaced – then set the mode to “OFF”.
IMPORTANT: If the CyLock module is (temporarily) located in a foreign country that is not covered by the included NB-IoT mobile network of Deutsche Telekom or its roaming partner (e.g. when travelling in such regions/countries), the mode should be set to “OFF” for this time !

-
” Country of predominant use “.
This setting is requested during registration and tells the module in which country it is currently located and where it should first look for a mobile connection, e.g. to transmit a message to the App. This “country code” will be set automatically by the module later on – it is much more energy-saving if you change it yourself when you change countries, e.g. when you go on holiday abroad, by selecting the new country of residence at your destination – this way you will also receive direct feedback if you want to use the module in a country where the NB IoT mobile network standard is not (currently) supported and therefore the module cannot be used !
